Giugno 2017
The summer season began to be filled with festivities that were very important and important in the liturgical calendar (in particular) of the Catholic Church. Among the various dates this year we remember: June 4 - Pentecost http://it.cathopedia.org/wiki/Pentecoste June 11 - Holy Trinity click here June 13 - St. Anthony of Padua Http://www.santantonio.org/it/basilica (with webcam) June 23 - Sacred Heart of Jesus http://it.cathopedia.org/wiki/Sacratissimo_Cuore_di_Gesù_(Solennità) June 24 - Nativity of St. John the Baptist https://www.ilcattolico.it/liturgia/feste-e-solennita/nativita-di-sgiovanni-battista.html June 29 - Saints Peter and Paul https://www.ilcattolico.it/liturgia/feste-e-solennita/solennita-dei-santi-pietro-e-paolo-apostoli-anno-a.html Basilica Apostolorum, or San Sebastiano, where in the first centuries the relics of Saints Peter and Paul were revered http://www.catacombe.org/basilica.html We want to emphasize in particular the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: an expression of a Faith in Christ anchored to His physical Person for the attraction to His divine body that is always present in the Eucharist (flesh and blood) of which we are invited to nourish constantly. Certainly, the Christian faith is not a simple "spiritualistic" religion, but drawing on the depths of the human spirit (or biblical "heart") it needs "signs" because it is more apparent to our eyes that it is a fact " Real "that concerns our daily lives; It is no coincidence that popular episodes of devotion emerge which are the relics of the Saints, cf. The recent transport from Bari to Moscow to a relic of the popular San Nicola click here Or the attention (even scientifically) always alive for the Shroud of Turin http://www.sindone.info/index.htm With its almost "imperceptible" traces of the body deposited in the tomb (then mysteriously "vanished") and signs (as from the Gospels) of Passion and Death (the true blood of the pierced pierced). Thinking of the Heart of Jesus we are almost inviting to hear in the silence and in prayer the beat of our own heart so that our thoughts and desires also join Him to be taken away from the continuing temptations and dispersions that we ourselves or induced by the world that we Surrounds (today more than ever by means of the powers of the great "networks" or the intrusive and often dispersive individualistic "social"). It is our own Christian story that remembers and remembers the places where it all began (the Holy Land and much of the Middle East and North Africa) where unfortunately, precisely in our days, we renew the cruel contrasts and wars that So much suffering in those lands so precious and valuable to our eyes. That is why we want to be mindful of day to day what is happening in Israel, Palestine, Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Egypt (and other places and peoples farther from us in Africa and Asia) thinking and praying For all our brethren in the faith, so that they may remain strong in their presence and testimony, while we sincerely hope that those pursuing them have the heart touched by the Lord and resist the evil temptations of those who inspire and sustain them, here also in the West, for material or of power. For obvious historical and religious reasons, let us not forget all of our "Western" Europe with the "EU" so subject to cultural and financial powers far away from the Christian faith and not even Eastern Europe, Bohemia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia , Hungary, etc. But above all Russia and Ukraine whose peoples confess Christian faith in the historical and liturgical forms of their respective Orthodox Churches for over a millennium. Even in this large area there is no lack of civil and political problems or nationalistic disputes, but we must always look sympathetically to people who in the recent past (the 20th century, in particular) have suffered greatly to preserve the faith and the resulting cultural traditions . Finally with humility we ask whoever wants it and can also have a small support to our work for this site: http://www.orientecristiano.it/sostienici.html |
