HOLY LAND: VISIT BY US-EU BISHOPS. THE SITUATION IN JERUSALEM

(Jerusalem) - Today the bishops of the US and EU coordinating authority for the Holy land will have an intense day. They are in Jerusalem (until 14th) for the traditional pastoral visit to local communities. Their programme actually includes a session by Daniel Seidemann, the founder of the non-profit association Ir Amim, working on the development of Jerusalem, which has to be sustainable and stable for both Palestinians and Israeli. Seidemann will then accompany the delegation to East and West Jerusalem to show them some critical aspects of urban development, until the separation wall. On the occasion, the bishops will also speak to some couples of Beit Safafa, living in flats built by the Latin Patriarchate for Christians. Afternoon in Bethlehem: the coordinating authority will meet the students of the local Catholic university, founded in 1973, the first one in Palestinian Territories, as well as exponents of the ecclesial community later on.
