BELARUS: THE FIRST PARISH OF THE BLESSED JOHN PAUL II REGISTERED THE COUNTRY

papa LoretoCelebration of liturgical memory of the Blessed John Paul II will have a special flavor in Belarus on 22 October. The first parish dedicated to this pope has been registered on the base of initiative of Fr. Igor Lashuk and with the blessing of Minsk and Mogilev archbishop Tadeush Kondrusevich. The decision has been confirmed by the Minsk city executive committee. Canonical territory of the parish will cover a new residential district Druzhba, located in one of the main entrances to Minsk, and will be a part of the South-west deanery. Worships in the parish will begin on 8 December 2011, a place of worship is yet to be assigned.
