BELARUS: INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ORTHODOX-CATHOLIC DIALOG IN MINSK

0517-kk-aPresident of the Pontifical council for promoting Christian unity, cardinal Kurt Koch, is the main guest at the international conference taking place on 13-15 November in Minsk, Belarus. It focuses on the topic “Orthodox-Catholic dialog: Christian ethical values as a contribution to the life of societies in Europe”. The event is organised by the Institut for religious dialog and interconfessional communication of the Synod of Orthodox Church in Belarus, Pontifical council for promoting Christian unity and Christian education centre of St. Cyril and Methodius, with cooperation of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese Minsk-Mohilev, represented by archbishop-metropolitan Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz. His lecture at the conference focuses on Christianity face to face with challenges of ideology of postmodernism. Orthodox Church represents majority of the population of Belarus (80%), followed by the Roman Catholics (10%).
